This week we did a team project where we had to light as many light bulbs as we could with just one battery. The record so far is 20 bulbs! We learned that parallel circuits can light more bulbs than series circuits.

The Fourth Week of School Jitters!
This week was very, very fun! We all did many things that gave us the jitters! In science, we made cars out of sand paper, paper, 4 wheels, 2 straws, and 2 dowles. We drove them down ramps at different heights and determined how far the cars would go! In reading, Number the Stars is going really well! Annemarie, Kirsti, and their mother took Ellen to Uncle Henricks house and Peter took Ellen's parents to a safe place. They were all doing fine until...Sorry! You'll have to read to find out! Lastly, in art class, fifth grade is making drawings and paintings of foods and many more!
That's the news for this week! Have a GREAT weekend!

It's the third week of school already!
This week was interesting. We started reading groups, and started reading the book Number the Stars. It is about a girl named Annemarie and she lives in Denmark, but Denmark has been taken over by the Nazis. Then, they are looking for all the jewish people- like her best friend, Ellen's family! So Annemarie's parents are hiding Ellen and saying she is Annemarie, and her little sister Kirsti's sister. Also, today we are getting our buddies! First, we interviewed our buddies, and then we read them a book. Today, we are switching jobs. We had a great week- Have a great weekend!

Second week of school everyone! Here's the news!
We all had a great first week of school, we played the Name Game, we played with toilet paper also! And in math, we got to make friquency tables. I think the greatest thing was to get to know everyone in your class!
For our second week of school, we made circle graphs in math, and made them misleading. How exactly? Well, Ms. Boarman taught us a way to mislead other people. Then, we'd ask our classmates questions like, what animal do you like best? Then, in homeroom, we colored T-shirts that show our personality, or things about us. We also made up these new, cool, jobs! Like paper passers, cubbie patrol, librarian, and the web-reporter, me! Then, for back-to-school-night, we tried to confuse our parents by picking a partener, then interviewing them, and the last step is to write a paragraph about your partner as if you were your partner, but you would write it with the information that you got from interviewing them. And last but not least, in social studies we are learning about the earlier colenies in our groups. I like Ms. Boarman a lot, and I want to get to know her this year.
That's all the news for this week! Have a great weekend everyone!
